Tracing the route of
novel coronavirus transmission
1) Returning home and dining with friends or relatives
Female in her fifties: Returning home to visit her family in Aichi, she met with ten relatives, paid a visit to ancestral grave and had a meal together.
Female in her thirties: Returning home to visit her family in Kyushu, she met with relatives one of whom also came back from another prefecture. Five of them had a meal together. The person coming back from another prefecture was later found to be covid positive.
Male in his twenties: Before having symptoms, he came back home to visit
his family also in the same prefecture and went bar-hopping with five friends.
Teenage male: Coming back home to visit his family in Kanto region, he
met up with friends there and spent several days sightseeing and going to
entertainment facilities together.
2) Traveling with friends or relatives
Female in her twenties: Before having symptoms, she stayed at a friend's house in Kansai region and had a party there. Eight people were at the party and five of them were later found to be covid positive.
Teenage female: She went to a karaoke establishment with three friends. After parting with them, she went by car to Mie prefecture with three other friends. On the same day that evening, she again went to a karaoke establishment with three other friends. All four of them were later found to be covid positive.
Female in her twenties: Before having symptoms, she and her family went to a friend's house multiple times. While staying there, she did not wear a mask. In addition, two families of 11 people also enjoyed barbecuing at a resort.
3) Dining with friends or relatives
Female in her twenties: She dined with three friends at a bar restaurant in Nagoya city. One of them was later found to be covid positive.
Male in his twenties: Before having symptoms, he attended a party held at a nightclub in Mie prefecture.
Male in his twenties: Before having symptoms, he attended a wedding with his wife. After that he continued going bar-hopping to three different pubs.
Female in her twenties: Before having symptoms, she spent time with three friends from morning until evening. Later, she met up with other friends and kept repeating dining activities both inside and outside the prefecture.
Teenage male: Before having symptoms he invited friends over. A group of four persons had a meal together and later played mahjong. Afterward, it became known that person or persons that ate together or played mahjong together had covid.
Male in his twenties: Despite having a fever above 38 degrees Celsius, he went out drinking with friends.
Male in his thirties: He went out dining with ten friends in Nagoya city. One of them was having a fever.
4) Barbecuing with friends
Female in her twenties: She had barbecues with friends at home and also at river bank. She also went on a pub crawl inside the prefecture over a period of several days with friends.
Male in his twenties: Before having symptoms, he got together with eight friends and had a barbecue, then went to a karaoke establishment, and later went to a bar to have drinks.
Female in her twenties: Before having symptoms, she got together with six or seven friends, whom she had met on SNS, and had a barbecue by the river bank in the prefecture.
