Gifu's subsidized infertility treatment is a project aimed at helping couples with infertility problems conceive and reduce their financial burden. The subsidies are provided to couples who undertake specific infertility treatment (in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection ICSI) at a designated medical institute.

Who can apply?

Persons who satisfy all the following criteria:
- Persons undertaking specific infertility treatment in a designated medical institute in Gifu Prefecture.
- Couples whose marriage is recorded on their family register (for foreign couples, alien registration card) and have been diagnosed by a physician at a designated medical institute as having extremely low to no prospects of conceiving without using specified infertility treatment.
- At least one person in the couple possesses an address in Gifu Prefecture at the time of application.
- Couples whose total income from the previous year did not exceed 7,300,000 yen. (Persons living in Gifu city, should talk to the Gifu city health care center for more information)
